We don't just tell you "Fixed Income: 55%". We tell you "Duration & Yield Spreads: 38%" and "Credit Analysis: 62%" — because the gap in one sub-topic might cost you 4 marks while another costs you zero.

Why this matters

A candidate at 80% on Duration but 20% on Credit Default Swaps has a "Fixed Income" problem that looks identical on the surface. Without sub-topic analysis, you'd study all of Fixed Income again. We tell you to study only Credit Default Swaps.
